Sabato 16 dicembre sarà una giornata particolare a Catanzaro per vivere il centro storico attraverso la vecchia ed affascinante funicolare cittadina, servizio di trasporto strategico che unisce ogni giorno il quartiere Sala con il centro città in 3 minuti. Si svolgerà infatti il Fun Day nel pieno del clima natalizio, con una miriade di eventi di cultura, musica ed intrattenimento a fare da cornice alla funicolare, in funzione dalle ore 7 alle 21. “Tramite questo appuntamento così coinvolgente vogliamo ulteriormente incentivare la conoscenza nella popolazione dell’esistenza e dell’importanza della funicolare di Catanzaro, i cui addetti e tecnici fanno ogni giorno un lavoro straordinario”-hanno affermato ai microfoni di RTC e del Giornale di Calabria l’amministratore unico dell’Azienda di mobilità di Catanzaro, Elio Bruno, ed il direttore generale, Filippo Pietropaolo. “Ogni giorno almeno 250 persone usufruiscono di tale servizio per arrivare nel centro città, con la possibilità, compreso nel costo unico di un euro e 50 centesimi, di utilizzare l’amipo parcheggio nella stazione di Catanzaro Sala e la navetta che congiunge la stazione di Piazza Roma con Piazza Matteotti. Un’occasione davvero imperdibile che nelle settimane a venire promuoveremo e promozioneremo ulteriormente affinchè chi deve recarsi nel centro possa evitare inutili code in macchina o stress da parcheggio bypassando il problema attraverso l’efficiente servizio offerto dalla funicolare. Bruno e Pietropaolo hanno peraltro annunciato per il 2018 un importante piano di riquailificazione, restyling ed innovazione tecnologica tramite un finanziamento regionale di un milione e mezzo di euro”.
