La Fondazione Girolamo Tripodi ha organizzato un incontro pubblico di denuncia e di proposta sul tema “Le piazze sono di tutti, la cultura appartiene al popolo”, che si svolgerà a Polistena venerdì 22 luglio alle ore 18,30 nella Sala Condello in Via Francesco Jerace. All’iniziativa, programmata in uno dei giorni per i quali il comune di Polistena ha negato le piazze alla Fondazione, parteciperanno: Pasquale Amato (Docente Università per Stranieri Reggio Calabria); Giuseppe Fabio Auddino (Senatore della Repubblica); Aurelio Chizzoniti (Avvocato); Eduardo Lamberti Castronuovo (Docente Università per Stranieri Reggio Calabria); Rocco Lentini (Presidente Istituto Ugo Arcuri per la storia dell’antifascismo e dell’Italia Contemporanea); Franco Mileto (Professore) e Michelangelo Tripodi (Presidente Fondazione Girolamo Tripodi). In apertura dell’incontro sarà proiettato il video “Girolamo Tripodi – Storia di un ideale” prodotto dalla Fondazione e realizzato da Tania Filippone, Cinzia Messina e Tina Tripodi. “L’iniziativa scaturisce -si afferma in una nota della Fondazione- dalla necessità di denunciare all’opinione pubblica la grave ed incresciosa situazione che si è determinata a Polistena con la mancata concessione, da parte dell’amministrazione comunale di ben due piazze (Piazza della Repubblica e Piazzale Trinità), che la Fondazione aveva chiesto per potervi tenere un Memorial in ricordo del senatore Girolamo Tripodi, per il quale era stato predisposto un intenso programma di manifestazioni culturali e di spettacoli musicali con la partecipazione di artisti di livello internazionale, alcuni dei quali provenienti dall’estero. Il diniego opposto dal Comune, fin da subito si è rivelato -continua la nota della Fondazione- arbitrario, immotivato e ingiustificato, chiara espressione di una volontà cinica ed odiosa di impedire, bloccare e ostacolare qualsiasi iniziativa promossa dalla Fondazione Girolamo Tripodi, anche mediante una gestione della cosa pubblica viziata da profili di illegittimità. Infatti, nel programma dell’Estate Culturale Polistenese, presentato il 9 luglio (già questo la dice tutta), dal 20 al 23 luglio (il periodo richiesto dalla Fondazione), non è prevista alcuna manifestazione e iniziativa né in Piazza della Repubblica né nel Piazzale Trinità”.
