I rampolli del clan Cordì di Locri, decimato dagli arresti, stavano scalando le gerarchie interne del sodalizio attraverso danneggiamenti, minacce ed estorsioni al fine di assicurarsi il controllo del territorio, ma alla fine alcune delle vittime hanno denunciato. Associazione per delinquere di tipo mafioso finalizzata alla produzione, traffico e detenzione illeciti di sostanza stupefacente; detenzione di armi e munizioni, danneggiamento, estorsione pluriaggravata, traffico e spaccio di banconote false sono i reati contestati alle 29 persone destinatarie delle misure cautelari richieste e ottenute dalla Dda di Reggio Calabria ed eseguite stamane dai Carabinieri nelle province di Reggio Calabria, Pavia, Udine, Terni e Catanzaro. L’operazione è frutto di due attività d’indagine complementari, denominate convenzionalmente “New Generation” e “Riscatto II”, condotte dai militari del Gruppo Carabinieri di Locri e finalizzate a colpire le giovani leve della cosca Cordì, operante principalmente nella Locride, e a colpire i responsabili delle richieste estorsive del clan nei confronti di imprenditori della zona. Le “nuove leve” della consorteria avevano messo in piedi un’associazione dedita alla detenzione e cessione di sostanze stupefacenti di cocaina e marijuana, che costituiva la principale e più remunerativa attività illecita svolta dalla cosca, ma anche attività estorsive nei confronti di noti imprenditori locali, che si sono ribellati segnalando alle istituzioni le loro condotte delittuose. Il provvedimento cautelare dimostrerebbe l’attuale struttura e operosità del sodalizio criminale che, nel corso del tempo, a causa dei numerosi arresti a carico dei principali esponenti della consorteria, avrebbe visto mutare l’assetto gerarchico del clan, lasciando maggiore spazio proprio alle nuove generazioni. In relazione all’associazione dedita al traffico di sostanze stupefacenti, gli inquirenti evidenziano come l’organizzazione sia tuttora esistente e operante nonostante i colpi subiti, come dimostrerebbero i profili criminali dei promotori, degli organizzatori e dei partecipi, nonché dai legami che ancora oggi risultano solidi, a conferma del radicamento dei clan di ‘ndrangheta liberando spontaneamente il territorio dalla loro presenza e capacità di intimidazione e controllo. I componenti dell’organizzazione non si limitavano a trafficare in stupefacenti, svolgendo una vera e propria attività di controllo del territorio, ma aveva nella sua disponibilità armi comuni da sparo avvalendosi senza scrupoli della collaborazione di minorenni, affascinati dalle figure carismatiche che rappresentano la cosca. Il traffico di sostanze stupefacenti era l’attività delittuosa preminente perseguita dalle “giovani leve” in quanto principale fonte di proventi nonché strumentale all’espressione dell’egemonia e del dominio del territorio, insieme alla detenzione, al porto, alla vendita e all’utilizzo di armi da fuoco. Armi mai rinvenute che gli indagati, quindi, secondo l’accusa, potrebbero ancora utilizzare per la commissione di più gravi reati; e le cessioni di stupefacenti a minori o, comunque, commessi in concorso con loro. Altra espressione tipica di mafiosità del gruppo criminale erano gli episodi in cui gli indagati avrebbero svolto degli interventi in favore di presunte vittime di reato o di altre ingiustizie, rilevate nei territori controllati dalla cosca, sostituendosi alle istituzioni dello stato. Un fenomeno consolidato nelle terre della ‘ndrangheta, dove il cittadino, piuttosto che denunciare i fatti alle competenti autorità, si rivolge gli esponenti dei clan per ottenere una giustizia privata ritenuta più immediata, rimanendo però coinvolto in dinamiche criminali da cui è difficile affrancarsi. A sostenere l’attività d’indagine sono stati, invece, proprio la fiducia e lo spunto investigativo offerto dalle coraggiose denunce sporte da alcuni imprenditori locali che, riponendo la massima aspettativa nelle istituzioni, hanno deciso di segnalare le richieste estorsive avanzate da alcuni degli indagati. Le estorsioni costringevano le vittime a vivere in un perdurante stato di oppressione, timore e ansia che si ripercuoteva inevitabilmente su tutto il nucleo familiare. Attraverso questo atteggiamento, gli indagati – spiegano gli inquirenti – avrebbero mantenuto attiva la propria rete di controllo su diversi settori economici e sociali, operando estorsioni mirate i cui ricavi erano da dividere in base a precisi accordi e sulla base dello spessore della famiglia destinataria.
La cosca emetteva anche “sentenze” su questioni private
La cosca “Cordì” di Locri, considerata tra le più influenti della provincia di Reggio Calabria, si sarebbe attivata, nel corso degli anni, per risolvere questioni legate a controversie private su richiesta di cittadini che, anziché alla giustizia ordinaria, preferivano rivolgersi al gruppo criminale. È quanto è emerso dall’inchiesta “New Generation-Riscatto II”, condotta dalla Dda di Reggio Calabria con il supporto investigativo dei carabinieri, che ha portato all’arresto di 29 persone. Le questioni sulle quali la cosca Cordì sarebbe intervenuta sono state numerose, consentendo di risolvere le controversie in maniera più rapida rispetto a quanto sarebbe avvenuto se ad occuparsene fosse stata la giustizia ordinaria. Un andazzo che i carabinieri definiscono “notorio e preoccupante”. I cittadini che avrebbero seguito questo metodo “non si sono resi però conto – fanno rilevare ancora gli investigatori – di rimanere così coinvolti in dinamiche criminali da cui era poi difficile affrancarsi”. I 29 arrestati vengono indicati dagli investigatori come le “nuove leve” della cosca Cordì. Elementi giovani attivi, in particolare, nel settore delle estorsioni ad imprenditori e commercianti.
