Un incendio doloso ha distrutto, la scorsa notte, l’auto di servizio della Polizia Municipale del Comune di san Giorgio Morgeto, nel Reggino. L’amministrazione comunale di Cinquefrondi, con una nota, esprime vicinanza all’amministrazione del comune vicino ed a tutti gli agenti della polizia locale. “Questo atto ignobile – si legge – è dannoso per tutta la comunità e tutti dobbiamo combattere senza sosta affinché ogni attività illecita non resti impunita”. L’auto è una Fiat Punto. Il sindaco Salvatore Valerioti definisce l’episodio “un gravissimo gesto intimidatorio. Malgrado il tempestivo intervento dei Vigili del fuoco – prosegue Valerioti – l’autovettura, l’unica in uso dei vigili urbani, è andata completamente distrutta. Al comandante e al Corpo dei vigili urbani esprimo a nome mio personale e di tutta l’amministrazione comunale, solidarietà piena e vicinanza”. Il sindaco di San Giorgio Morgeto ha rivolto anche un appello agli inquirenti, “per fare rapidamente piena luce sull’ignobile gesto che non condizionerà di certo il cammino della nostra amministrazione comunale che opera da sempre nel pieno rispetto della legalità e della trasparenza amministrativa».
