“Serviamo lo Stato in nome della libertà come recita il nostro motto. Oggi, in rispetto dell’Ucraina non parliamo di festa ma di celebrazione. La Polizia in questi anni è cambiata, si è evoluta, ma ha sempre come obiettivo stare in mezzo alla gente e ringrazio i cittadini di Cosenza che rispondono positivamente alla nostra presenza”. Sono le parole del questore di Cosenza Giovanna Petrocca, a margine della cerimonia celebrativa del 170mo anniversario della Fondazione della Polizia di Stato, te
nutasi a Cosenza, in piazza Carratelli. Anche quest’anno è stato scelto come tema celebrativo il motto ‘Esserci sempre’, per esaltare l’importanza di un sinergico e condiviso rapporto di collaborazione tra cittadini e istituzioni deputate alla gestione dell’ordine e della sicurezza pubblica. Prima dell’inizio della cerimonia, il Questore, alla presenza del prefetto Vittoria Ciaramella e di una rappresentanza della locale Sezione Anps, ha reso gli onori ai caduti della Polizia con la deposizione di una corona d’alloro al monumento situato all’ingresso della Questura. In piazza era presente anche il camper della campagna “Questo non è amore”, con a bordo personale che ha avuto cura di informare i cittadini dell’iniziativa del Dipartimenti della Pubblica Sicurezza. Durante la cerimonia è stato proiettato un film documentario realizzato dal Gabinetto Provinciale della Polizia Scientifica dedicato all’impegno sociale della Polizia di tutta la provincia di Cosenza. Consegnati, infine, i riconoscimenti agli appartenenti alla Polizia di Stato che si sono distinti, durante la loro attività, per meriti di servizio.
