La Federazione provinciale del Partito Democratico di Vibo Valentia e due consiglieri provinciali di maggioranza, Daniele Vasinton e Antonella Grillo, hanno chiesto le dimissioni del presidente della Provincia Salvatore Solano dopo la delibera dello stesso ufficio di presidenza (sottoscritta dal vicepresidente) per costituire la Provincia parte civile nel procedimento “Rinascita Scott 2” contro 85 imputati fra i quali lo stesso Solano, accusato di corruzione, scambio elettorale politico mafioso e turbata libertà degli incanti con l’aggravante mafiosa.
“La paradossale vicenda della delibera che dà mandato alla Provincia di Vibo di costituirsi parte civile nel processo – spiega il Pd – è rilevante sotto il profilo politico. Al netto della responsabilità penale del presidente Solano, aspetto giudiziario al quale ci approcciamo con il necessario garantismo, non può sfuggire che di fatto la Provincia è rappresentata legalmente dal suo presidente e sta in giudizio per mezzo di quest’ultimo che, nel valutare positivamente la costituzione di parte civile nel processo, ha già espresso una valutazione preliminare sulla lesività della condotta contestata dalla Dda a proprio carico. Rimanere ad occupare la postazione di presidente è un atteggiamento inconcepibile per chi crede nella sacralità delle istituzioni. Il Partito democratico – conclude – ritiene dunque che siano doverose le dimissioni di Solano”.
