“La cardiochirurgia del policlinico di Catanzaro ha raggiunto risultati importanti ma adesso dev’essere potenziata”. Lo ha detto il direttore di Cardiochirurgia dell’azienda ospedaliera universitaria “Mater Domini” di Catanzaro, Pasquale Mastroroberto, nel corso di una conferenza stampa convocata per fare un bilancio dell’attività dell’unità operativa e per lanciare alcune proposte per migliorarne le prestazioni.
Mastroroberto si è soffermato in primo luogo sui dati, certificati dal ministero della Salute sulla scorta del “Programma nazionale Esiti” (Pne), della qualità delle prestazioni fornite dalla Cardiochirurgia universitaria di Catanzaro, con riferimento al parametro della mortalità a 30 giorni per il by-pass aortocoronarico e la sostituzione delle valvole, evidenziando che “nel 2013 eravamo sotto la media nazionale, e tra i meno virtuosi in Italia, mentre nel 2020 siamo allo 0,6% rispetto al 2% della media nazionale”. Inoltre, il direttore di Cardiochirurgia del Policlinico di Catanzaro,”nel 2019 il nostro centro è risultato il sesto in Italia sulle complessive 105 cardiochirurgie pubbliche e private”.
Per Mastroroberto “sono risultati che possono infondere fiducia nella popolazione calabrese”. Accanto agli aspetti positivi, tuttavia, non mancano – ha proseguito il direttore di Cardiochirurgia del Policlinico “Mater Domini” – “note dolenti, a partire da quello che venne stabilito dall’allora commissario ad acta della sanità calabrese Scura, con un decreto paradossale perché il nostro centro pubblico è stato dotato di soli 14 posti letto di degenza ordinaria e solo 4 di terapia intensiva post chirurgica, tra l’altro sottratti a rianimazione generale. Purtroppo – ha aggiunto Mastroroberto – alla fine diventa inevitabile fare dei paragoni e così ci si può rendere conto che il centro di Reggio ha 20 posti di degenza ordinaria e il Sant’Anna di Catanzaro ha 20 posti di degenza ordinaria e 10 di terapia intensiva post chirurgica. Per quanto ci riguarda, sarebbero quindi necessari almeno 20 posti per la degenza ordinaria e 6-8 posti letto di terapia intensiva. È evidente che i numeri della nostra cardiochirurgia vanno assolutamente potenziati, con l’innesto ovviamente del necessario personale soprattutto infermieristico: sono anni che lo stiamo chiedendo ma senza alcun riscontro”.
Altro aspetto negativo, per Mastroroberto, è “il complessivo squilibrio tra pubblico e privato che si registra in Calabria, con il paradosso che, per sopperire alla carenza di personale, nel 2018 il commissario Scura chiese aiuto ai privati per tutelare la salute dei cittadini, e anche con il commissario Cotticelli si è privilegiato il privato. Non sono per la contrapposizione tra pubblico e privato ma per un giusto riequilibrio in modo che il pubblico possa fornire adeguiate prestazioni e contribuire così alla riduzione della mobilità passiva”.
“Finora – ha quindi spiegato il direttore di Cardiochirurgia del Policlinico ‘Mater Domini’ di Catanzaro – il rapporto ‘malato’ tra pubblico e privato ha comportato in Calabria continui sforamenti del budget per i privati accreditati, l’incremento degli oneriamo per le Asp, l’aumento dei costi delle prestazioni ambulatoriali e di diagnostica, una sanità pubblica sempre più nel caos con commissari straordinari che si avvicendano in modo vertiginoso con conseguente prolungato immobilismo”.
In conclusione della conferenza stampa, infine, Mastroberto ha presentato anche il settimo Simposio internazionale “Complex Diseases of Thoracic and Thoraco-Abdominal Aorta” che si svolgerà il 22 e il 23 giugno all’Università di Catanzaro.
