Sono in arrivo 12.800.000 euro dal ministero delle Infrastrutture per le Ferrovie della Calabria per due importanti interventi infrastrutturali che interesseranno la linea ferroviaria regionale. Il primo è destinato alla realizzazione della nuova stazione ferroviaria di Catanzaro Città. “Con questi lavori – spiega una nota – si potrà migliorare la fruibilità della linea ferroviaria che giunge a Catanzaro e si estende poi su Catanzaro Lido e, a breve, anche su Germaneto. L’intervento – si sottolinea – avrà anche la funzione di ricucitura della parte alta e di quella parte bassa del centro della città di Catanzaro. Il secondo intervento finanziato – si legge -permetterà di realizzare un posto di scambio sulla tratta tra le stazioni di Catanzaro Pratica e Catanzaro, consentendo così di aumentare la frequenza dei treni sulla tratta Catanzaro Città – Catanzaro – Catanzaro Lido – Germaneto. Il complessivo potenziamento della tratta ferroviaria consentirà, tra l’altro, di migliorare il servizio di trasporto offerto nell’area del capoluogo regionale con una rilevante riduzione del ricorso al trasporto privato, a tutto vantaggio dell’ambiente”.
