Dodici persone arrestate e una sottoposta all’obbligo di dimora. E’ il bilancio di un’operazione condotta stamane dai carabinieri della compagnia di Crotone, con il supporto di personale dello Squadrone Eliportato Cacciatori “Calabria” e del 14° battaglione Carabinieri “Calabria”. Nove le persone in carcere e 3 agli arresti domiciliari. Gli indagati sono ritenuti responsabili, a vario titolo, di associazione armata finalizzata al traffico illecito di sostanze stupefacenti (in particolare eroina, cocaina e marijuana), ricettazione, detenzione di armi da guerra. A due di loro è anche contestata la partecipazione ad un’associazione di tipo ‘ndranghetista operante a Crotone, la cosca Vrenna-Corigliano-Bonaventura–Ciampà-Megna. I dettagli dell’operazione saranno resi noti nel corso di una conferenza stampa che il Procuratore della direzione Distrettuale antimafia di Catanzaro, Nicola Gratteri, terrà alle ore 11 al comando provinciale Carabinieri di Crotone.
L’associazione armata finalizzata al traffico di sostanze stupefacenti, sgominata con operazione, chiamata in codice “Orso” faceva capo a tre fratelli: Andrea, Gianluca e Massimiliano La Forgia. L’organizzazione, dedita allo smercio di eroina, cocaina e marijuana, secondo quanto hanno appurato i Carabinieri, gestisce gestiva una piazza di spaccio nel rione popolare Fondo Gesù di Crotone e funzionava come un vero e proprio esercizio commerciale con precisi orari: apertura alle ore 7 e chiusura alle ore 20. Nel corso delle indagini – iniziate nel 2016 in seguito ad una perquisizione domiciliare che ha portato al rinvenimento di tre pistole nella disponibilità di Andrea La Forgia, oltre che di munizioni e stupefacente – è stato anche immortalato, grazie ad una attività di videosorveglianza effettuata dai carabinieri, l’acquisto da parte degli indagati di una mitraglietta “VZ61 Skorpion” calibro 7,65 Browning, ritenuta arma da guerra clandestina e già sequestrata.
