Due condanne in Corte d’Assise d’Appello a Catanzaro per l’omicidio di Stefano Piperno, il giovane educatore di Nicotera, nel Vibonese, ucciso e bruciato il 19 giugno 2018. A 30 anni di reclusione è stato condannato Ezio Perfidio, mentre il padre Francesco Perfidio è stato condannato a 6 anni. In primo grado erano stati giudicati con il rito abbreviato e questo ha permesso agli imputati di godere di uno sconto di pena pari ad un terzo. Difensori di parte civile per conto dei familiari del giovane ucciso, gli avvocati Nicodemo Gentile ed Antonio Cozza. Secondo le indagini dei carabinieri, coordinate dalla Procura di Vibo Valentia, sarebbe stato Ezio Perfidio a sparare al coetaneo Stefano Piperno alcuni colpi di fucile. Il padre Francesco sarebbe stato invece presente al momento dell’omicidio. Il movente del delitto, aggravato dai futili motivi, sarebbe da ricercare nelle pressanti richieste della vittima finalizzate ad ottenere cocaina, pur avendo maturato debiti pregressi con gli aggressori. I Perfidio erano accusati dei reati di distruzione di cadavere, detenzione di armi oltre ad un’ipotesi aggravata di spaccio di sostanza stupefacente. Gli imputati erano difesi dall’avvocato Francesco Sabatino.
