Giovedì 25 giugno con inizio alle 18.30 si terrà la manifestazione “Liberi… di giocare”, manifestazione in memoria di Domenico “Dodò” Gabriele, che si svolgerà ai Campi Macrillò, Via delle Orchidee, Contrada Margherita – Crotone, presso lo stesso campo dove il bambino fu colpito a morte il 25 giugno 2009. Organizzata dal coordinamento di Crotone di “Libera. Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro le mafie” e dalla FIGC-LND di Crotone, in collaborazione con l’Associazione “Dodò Gabriele” e la Pastorale sociale e del lavoro dell’Arcidiocesi di Crotone-Santa Severina, quest’anno sarà diversa dal solito perché, per i noti motivi legati all’emergenza virus Covid-19, non avremo i ragazzi della categoria esordienti delle scuole calcio di tutta la Calabria a riempire i campi della struttura sportiva e a disputare l’ormai consolidato torneo di calcetto. Sarà un’edizione calibrata nel rispetto delle norme di sicurezza. Ma soprattutto sarà ancora una volta l’occasione per ricordare Dodò e fare memoria. Il torneo “Liberi di giocare” non è mai stato un evento fine a se stesso ma la tappa di un impegno che deve durare 365 giorni all’anno. Perché Dodò e le vittime innocenti delle mafie non vogliono essere solo ricordati. Vogliono che continuiamo ad impegnarci portando le loro storie e le loro speranze nelle scuole, nelle università, nelle associazioni, nelle parrocchie e dovunque i cittadini vivono quella responsabilità per il bene comune che è il primo antidoto al male delle mafie e della corruzione. Ci chiedono di ribellarci all’indifferenza, all’illegalità, alla ‘ndrangheta che uccide, corrompe e devasta i beni comuni e ruba la speranza. Perciò anche quest’anno saremo “Liberi di giocare” per Dodò e per tutte le vittime innocenti delle mafie.
