La Procura della Repubblica di Catanzaro ha chiuso le indagini sul presunto utilizzo di soldi pubblici destinati alla promozione turistica della Calabria per la promozione – secondo l’accusa – del personaggio politico Mario Oliverio. Nell’inchiesta, oltre Oliverio, indagato per peculato, è coinvolto Mauro Luchetti, legale rappresentante della “Hdrà”, società romana che si occupa di comunicazione e organizzazione di eventi. Al centro delle indagini le risorse usate per finanziare, nel luglio 2018, un’iniziativa a Spoleto a margine del Festival dei Due Mondi, che secondo l’accusa avrebbe perseguito finalità privatistiche di promozione politica. L’evento era un format giornalistico, “I dialoghi di Paolo Mieli”, tenutosi a margine del festival. Per i pm, in quel contesto “non venivano promosse le attività turistiche regionali, bensì si realizzavano le interviste tipiche di un talk show”. Nell’ambito dell’inchiesta, nel luglio scorso, la Guardia di finanza aveva eseguito un provvedimento di sequestro preventivo per 95.475 euro nei confronti di Oliverio.
Nel decreto con cui il gip aveva disposto il sequestro, era citato anche l’ex parlamentare del Pd Ferdinando Aiello che per l’accusa avrebbe messo in contatto Oliverio con la Hdra’, “istigandone la partecipazione e partecipando lui stesso, sebbene privo di titolo, a spese della Regione Calabria”. Il nome di Aiello non figurerebbe nell’avviso conclusione indagini. L’avv. Vincenzo Belvedere, legale di Oliverio, dopo la notifica del decreto di sequestro, nell’estate scorsa, affermò che vi è “una enorme confusione tra l’agire politico, l’amministrare il denaro pubblico, il differenziare, soprattutto dopo l’entrata in vigore della Legge Bassanini, la responsabilità degli atti amministrativi dal mero indirizzo politico ed ipotesi di reato destituite di qualsivoglia, pur minimo, fondamento”.
