Nella confusione che ancora caratterizza il quadro politico locale in vista delle prossime regionali, c’è un primo elemento di chiarezza: la Calabria tornerà al voto nel gennaio 2020. A farlo intendere è stato il presidente della Regione, Mario Oliverio, parlando con alcuni giornalisti a margine di un appuntamento a Catanzaro. Esclusa definitivamente la ‘finestra’ del 15 dicembre, che pure secondo molti analisti politici era una data credibile, le elezioni in Calabria si terranno, verosimilmente, il prossimo 26 gennaio, abbinate a quelle dell’Emilia Romagna. La schiarita sulla data del voto metterà adesso i partiti e le coalizioni nelle condizioni di accelerare le trattative per definire candidature e alleanze, finora caratterizzate da molta incertezza, acuita poi ai riflessi del voto in Umbria, che hanno rimesso in discussione anche alcuni equilibri che si stavano delineando in Calabria.
Al momento le forze politiche e gli schieramenti vivono tensioni e anche divisioni interne. Nel campo del centrodestra, persiste la contrapposizione tra Forza Italia e Lega, dopo che i salviniani, dati in fortissima crescita di consensi anche in Calabria, hanno posto il veto alla candidatura alla presidenza della Regione del sindaco di Cosenza, Mario Occhiuto, indicato da Forza Italia. I forzisti stanno tenendo il punto, rivendicando, in ogni caso, la titolarità della scelta del candidato governatore e valutando altri nomi di papabili. Occhiuto in ogni caso ha già ribadito di essere sempre in campo. Nel centrodestra, comunque, si attende la conclusione del lavoro di mediazione che Silvio Berlusconi ha avviato sia con la Lega sia con Fratelli d’Italia, altro partito in ascesa a livello regionale.
