“Non c’è stata nessuna fuga in avanti di Forza Italia sulla candidatura a presidente della Regione. Meno che meno alcuna scorrettezza nei confronti dei partiti alleati. Riteniamo sia stato legittimo che il partito a cui – secondo un consolidato accordo e senza prova contraria – spetta il compito di guidare la coalizione abbia indicato con chiarezza e alla luce del sole il candidato”. La puntualizzazione è di Domenico Tallini, vicecoordinatore regionale del partito azzurro. “I vertici nazionali di Forza Italia, con in testa il vicepresidente Antonio Tajani – spiega – ci hanno confermato a Viterbo che l’accordo prevede l’assegnazione della Calabria al partito del presidente Berlusconi. Dovremo aspettare solo pochi giorni per averne l’ennesima conferma al tavolo nazionale. Se ci saranno novità o modifiche ne prenderemo tranquillamente atto. Su un punto occorre essere chiari: non saranno accettati veti o piani B. Lo ha detto a chiare lettere anche il presidente Tajani. Forza Italia non ha messo becco nelle scelte della Lega in Umbria e in Emilia Romagna o, in precedenza, di Fratelli d’Italia in Abruzzo. Ma questo è l’ABC della politica. Mi sento di condividere, a tale proposito – continua – la lucida analisi dell’on. Michele Traversa che in una recente intervista ha detto che la scelta del candidato alla presidenza della Regione spetta al tavolo nazionale, specificando che se toccherà a Forza Italia sarà quel partito ad esprimerlo in totale autonomia, mentre se dovesse toccare al suo partito, Fratelli d’Italia, il nome sarebbe quello dell’on. Wanda Ferro. Non capisco pertanto – dice – le voci di disappunto rispetto all’autonoma e legittima scelta fatta da Forza Italia che ha indicato all’unanimità alla presidenza della Regione il sindaco di Cosenza, Mario Occhiuto, da noi ritenuto la personalità più adatta per imprimere un forte cambiamento sulla base di un programma ambizioso, innovativo e condiviso”.
