REGGIO CALABRIA. “Non è giustificabile né tollerabile la crisi in cui son state cacciate, dopo cinque anni di governo di centrosinistra della Regione, le Ferrovie della Calabria che, per storia, patrimonio materiale ed esperienza maturata nel corso di vari decenni, costituiscono un asse portante del sistema trasportistico”. E’ quanto afferma il presidente del Gruppo misto-Fratelli d’Italia del Consiglio regionale Fausto Orsomarso, che annuncia un’interrogazione “volta a indicare le criticità su cui intervenire con urgenza per evitare che la negligenza, a volte l’insipienza e spesso la miopia politica (elementi di cui la Giunta regionale ha ampiamente dato prova nella sanità, in agricoltura, nel turismo e via aggiungendo) ne intacchino le prospettive e il futuro”. “La vicenda delle Ferrovie della Calabria, poi – prosegue – è il simbolo di una modalità amministrativa che non solo ha precluso lo sviluppo dell’azienda, ma l’ha obbligata a indietreggiare rispetto ai risultati conseguiti col centrodestra alla guida della Regione, quando (Orsomarso aveva la delega ai Trasporti, ndr) in 16 mesi, abbiamo promosso riforme che il settore attendeva da anni. Giusto per ricordarne alcune: controllo satellitare delle flotte, adeguamento tariffario (fermo al 1997), il riconoscimento dell’inflazione programmata, la soppressione delle corse non produttive, le sovrapposizioni gomma/ferro e gomma/gomma e tante altre azioni che ci hanno visto protagonisti anche in Conferenza Stato-Regione. Ovviamente, l’impresa più difficile su cui ho messo la faccia fu il salvataggio delle Ferrovie della Calabria”.
