“Il paese sta ristagnando sul piano economico, crescono le diseguaglianze e si continua a negare il pesante rallentamento del Mezzogiorno”. Lo ha detto il segretario generale della Uil Calabria, Santo Biondo, intervenendo a Catanzaro a un’iniziativa delle confederazioni in vista della manifestazione nazionale unitaria di Cgil, Cisl e Uil per il Sud del 22 giugno a Reggio Calabria. “Mentre si registra questo rallentamento – ha aggiunto Biondo – il governo nazionale propone il regionalismo differenziato, che secondo noi è incostituzionale perché non guarda al Mezzogiorno, non salvaguarda i livelli essenziali delle prestazioni, nega la funzione perequatrice dello Stato. Ormai sono anni che i governi mettono in campo politiche economiche che di fatto non hanno riallineato questa parte del paese, a partire dalla Calabria, al resto d’Italia. Probabilmente, invece di differenziare, è arrivato il momento – ha sostenuto il segretario generale della Uil Calabria – di mettere in campo un grande e straordinario intervento per il Mezzogiorno finalizzato a investimenti pubblici nelle infrastrutture, nella rete dei servizi essenziali come la sanità, settore che in Calabria vive una fase drammatica, che ci preoccupa fortemente”.
